New York Knicks are drawing interest for Lee
David Lee is a restricted free agent. That means any offer he receives, the Knicks can match it and retain him. At the same time, the Knicks have been trying to create as much cap space entering next year as they can in order to lure LeBron James. Since Hedo Turkoglu decided not to go to Portland, the Trailblazers now have enough cap space to offer Lee a 5 year $50mil deal. That would be a lot for New York to match. And if they match, they may take themselves out of the James sweepstakes. A sign and trade is what the Knicks would like to do. It will be an intersting week once July 8th arrives and teams can sign free agents. Portland is trying to get better. Lee is a good player, but I don't know if he is worth offering all of their cap space. This has already been an exicting offseason and it only figures to get better.
