Next summer is getting all the billing for the Knicks due to the LeBron James sweepstakes. The Knicks currently have $71million in their payroll. As of right now, only $27 mil will be on the books this time next year. That means this summer the youngsters have to impress to stay on the team with their cheap salaries.
Highly drafted Jordan Hill did not dissappoint with 14 points and 8 rebounds a game. He got the most amount of playing time. And, may likely be part of the LeBron core, should that work out.
Also drafted in the first round was Toney Douglas. He averaged 9 points 7 assist 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. He can play behind Nate Robinson for a year before taking over.
Morris Almond averaged 14 points while Nikoloz Tskitishvili got 12. Neither are under contract.
Overall, I think the Knicks got two solid players. There is a lot of playroll on this team. But, it looks like the mess is about to be cleared.
