NCAA Madness: Sunday

This has been an unbelievable tournament!  Not in the sweet 16--Kansas Jayhawks, the number one team in the country.--New Mexico, 29-4 and a 3 seed---Villanova, the numbe 2 seed and many who had in the final four---Georgetown, #3 seed.

What will be in store for today?

Michigan State vs Maryland.  I said a few days ago that this game didn't matter because the winnr would play Kansas.  Now, the winner plays Northern Iowa and a chance to get to the elite 8!  Maryland has one of the top players in the country and Michigan State has one of the best tournament coaches in the  country.   Let's keep riding the upsets and take Michigan State.

Xavier vs Pitt--Both teams are tournament good teams and it wouldn't surprise anyone if you said they were in the sweet 16.  Sean Miller played at Pitt and coached at Xavier and now is at home watching.  Who is he rooting for? Niether, he is trying to figure out how to get Arizona back into the tourney.  Anyway, I say that Pitt is too good for Xavier and will advance to play the other Kansas school.

Cornell vs Wisconson.  I'll say it again.  The winner of the Cornell, Wisconsin game goes to the sweet 16.  Many were picking Wisconsin to be the big seed to lose early.  And, they didn't.  So, the Badgers were a bracket buster by not letting themselves get busted.  But, Cornell on the other hand, is a bracket buster.  All of the sudden, people are picking Cornell to upset Wisconsin.  Beware, the Badgers aren't pretty, but they are good.  I say Wisconsin wins, although I'm rooting for Cinderella.

Missouri plays a little crazy. But, they play hard and they play loose.  West Virginia might be the hottest team in the nation.  This will be a fast paced up and down thrill to watch.  Picking Missouri for an upset wouldn't be a bad idea.  But, I think West Virginia is too solid to be rattled by the mahem.  The winner will get to take on the solid, well coached team of New Mexico.  What? Oh, scratch that. They get to take on Washington.  Ten days ago people were saying only one Pac 10 team was going to make it.

Duke and Cal.  Duke is still a favorite here. California has been pretty quiet this year.  I still say Duke to the final four.

Texas A and M takes on Purdue.  The Aggies have been  pleasant surprise.  Just like their Big 10 counterparts, Wisconsin, the Boilermakers were suppose to lose to a lower seed. People will say the same again today.  But, Purdue is still pretty good.  I say Purdue as a bracket buster, they win.

There you have it.   The final four could be Northern Iowa vs Butler and Cornell vs St Mary's.

But it won't.  It will be Ohio State vs Kansas St and Kentucky vs Duke.  Classic.
